A Ripe rug feels soft and pleasant, and retains its unique fine and silky sheen for years. It is a characteristic of a Ripe cut pile rug that it is subject to a subtle track marking, this occurs due to change of light reflection and reverses naturally during use. Ripe offers a range of tuft types; low cut, loop and high cut pile. This can be tufted in a mixture of different colours, or in a mixture with linen or eucalyptus yarns.

Mohair can be twisted and bent without damage to the fibre; it is the most durable animal fibre. Mohair is stronger than steel of the same diameter.
